Creekside Charrette Summary

The following notes provide an outline of the Creekside Charrette process.

  • We held five public meetings (attended by a total of 356 people)
  • We convened five different focus groups
  • We conducted over 20 one to ones

Kick-Off Day, 22nd June

Monday 9th June:

  • Focus groups convened: Use of the Creek; Creative Industries; and Hard to reach community members
  • 1:1 sessions with key stakeholders
  • Public meeting at Laban
  • Workshop 1 focused on 24hrs in Creekside, asking What do I do? Where do I go? What would I like to do? Where would I like to go?
  • Workshop 2 asked What will Creekside be like in 2018?

Tuesday 10th June:

  • Creek Walk with conservation expert Nick Bertrand from the Creekside Centre
  • Outreach workshop with local faith group
  • Youth workshop with Addey and Stanhope School
  • Designing and concept development with the Design Team
  • Focus groups: Sustainability
  • 1:1 sessions with key stakeholders

Wednesday 11th June:

  • Designing and concept development with the Design Team
  • 1:1 sessions with key stakeholders
  • Meeting with the Environment Agency
  • Public meeting at Lewisham College
  • This was a drop in session, where participants got to see short presentations and pin-ups of some of the initial design ideas
  • The Design Team were available for questions and discussion

Thursday 12th June:

  • Design Team meeting with Design for London and Lewisham Planning Department
  • Plan synthesis and development
  • Technical reviews

Friday 13th June:

  • Production
  • Public meeting at the Greenwich Picturehouse
  • This meeting was the final report back and concept presentation
  • Discussion and feedback
  • Vision statement sign-up
  • Celebration
